Starting Slow - Cha Cha as a Money Maker While You Research Other Options

So, while we research ways to turn time into trinkets, what can we do to supplement our income while we research our other options?

The answer I keep coming back to from others is Cha Cha.

Cha Cha is a site that turns the desire people have to get instant answers into profit by way of those same people having little education or ability to look things up (or possibly read in some cases). ChaCha Guides (what you become when you "volunteer" to help them) help answer questions from customers in a fun and fast-paced environment. You provide the brainpower to analyze the question and craft high quality answers, while they provide professional search training and custom tools to turbo-charge the process. Once you’re onboard as a Guide, you can simply log in whenever you want to contribute, making it a perfect job for people who need odd hours and spend lots of time on the computer.

Bad news is that you have to "test" to become accepted, which takes a few hours time (most spent watching training videos), and being accepted takes a few days for them to decide. However, once you're in, there is money to be made on your schedule. You just click your status to "available" and questions pop up on your screen when they are sent, meaning you can continue to do something else until questions arrive (anywhere from instantly to 10 minutes apart).

Guides have two ways to earn:
  • Guides can earn a set amount per task completed. Expeditors earn $0.02 cents per completed task and Transcribers $0.03 per completed task. Generalists & Specialists earn between $0.10 and $0.20 per completed task, based on the Category of the question.
  • Guides can also earn points for each search or task they complete. Expeditors and Transcribers earn 2 Points per completed task, and Generalists & Specialists earn 8 Points. Points are given a MINIMUM cash value at the beginning of each month. That value increases as the total number of sessions of all GuideShare guides increases. So, the more sessions you and the rest of the Guide population complete under Points mode, the more everyone’s Points are worth!
ChaCha is not designed to be a primary revenue source, but it can be more than chump change to those with a passion. This will not make you rich, so this is not the end of our search. But why not make a couple of bucks to pay for Doritos and Mt. Dew while you are searching the web for the real answer?

  1. Wow... This is a really good idea.

Mind if I do a little look-see into this as well, once I finish my experiment with online surveys? I'm going to eventually be trying out internet "Cash myths" on my blog, and this seems like it would really fit the bill. I'll link back, of course.

  8. chacha probably was given about 200 hours of answers by retarded me. In total i made 44.00 before i started answering "love" questions about boyfriends and girlfriends with answers like . "go fuck yourself" and "fuck yourself". they promptly let me go and i still to this day have not recieved my money.

    All those services....not worth it.
